Express Dictate Now on iPhone
 

In a move that will make it even easier for physicians to dictate and send voice files to transcription services, NCH and Apple have created a new application that will enable doctors to dictate directly into their iPhones.

Doctors will now be able to dictate at any time, even at home or while traveling, and then hit "send" to transmit the dictation to the transcriptionist.  The new app, called "Pocket Dictate", is not only for the iPhone, but will allow physicians to record and send dictation from their PC, Mac, PocketPC, Palm, and SmartPhone.

"Pocket Dictate" is encrypted for HIPAA compatibility, and although it is supposed to be available through Apple's App Store, I was only able to find it through the NCH website.

Spheris misses bond interest payment

    Latest sign of financial trouble at medical transcription company

Ailing Spheris failed to make an interest payment this past December, adding to a number of events indicating the increasing financial difficulties within the company.
