Phone-In Dictation Systems

A phone-in system allows physicians to dial directly into the MTSO computer to record dictation. Recording, replay, editing and file management are controlled by pressing numbers on the telephone keypad. Some systems will collect patient demographic information as well.  Phone-in can be done from any telephone, including cell phones. With the addition of toll free service, it is an easy, flexible and valuable method.

On-Site Digital Dictation Systems (including hand helds)

On-site systems allow physicians to record their dictation directly into a digital dictation machine, or desktop or laptop computer equipped with a microphone. Alternatively, a hand held digital recorder is used to capture dictation, which is then downloaded into the physician's PC.  Digital dictation files can then be  transmitted to the MTSO via FTP, email, direct modem or local computer network, and in some cases, patient demographic information as well.
